Fix 403 UNAUTHORIZED_ACCESS on template update or delete

UNAUTHORIZED_ACCESS on the templates API means the key lacks write access or the template belongs to another account. How to diagnose and fix it.

Causes

  • The key has the read access level, and updating or deleting needs write.
  • The template ID belongs to a different account than the key.

Fix

  1. Create a key with the read and write access level.
  2. List templates with that key and use an ID from the result.
