Do I need an Apple Developer account?

Apple requires a Developer Account (USD $99/year) to issue commercial passes to Apple Wallet — that's a direct Apple cost, not ours, and applies regardless of which wallet platform you choose. We help you set it up during onboarding.
Once that is in place, Shakewell handles the Pass Type ID certificates, signs each pass and renews certificates automatically.
Google Wallet passes are issued through Shakewell's Google Wallet integration, so there is no equivalent account for you to set up.
